Did you know Blizzard added a click to move tool into World of Warcraft to make the game more accessible for disabled gamers? No, you’re not a noob! Many gamers are unaware it even exists and I’ll admit it’s harder to find than a rare [Scourged Whelpling]. Never fear gamers, that’s why I’m here! Let’s find Move Pad:
First off open your “Game Menu”
then chose “Interface”.
In the left column chose “Help”, then check the box beside “Show Move Pad”. Hit “Okay”.
This should open the move pad menu.
Here’s our YouTube video guide if you wish to see it in real time!
Congratulations!
You are now on your way to moving your character around without being forced to constantly hold down your left mouse button or run only in a straight line when using the click to move option. Ahhh, freedom!
How Does Move Pad Work?
It’s really simple! First off you can position the menu anywhere on your screen, so it is in an optimal place for you to use it as well as your other abilities. By pressing the lock button in the lower right hand corner, you can move the menu into position and then relock it to prevent accidentally moving it while it’s in use. Once you get it into the position you want it just click the button on the menu in the direction you wish to go. Pressing up makes your character move forward, pressing the arrow down makes your character walk backwards, and the left and right arrows will make your character strafe from side to side. Once you push a button, your character will continue moving until you press the button again. This means pressing combinations will allow you to run diagonally, or press the jump button while your character is still moving. There is even a jump button in the middle of the menu allowing you to keep your mouse pointer closer to the run button you may have activated.
Practicing Move Pad
I’m not going to lie, it will take practice to get used to the starting and stopping. However, in the end it’s definitely worth it. The move pad allows you to make tricky jumps like the ones found in Naxxramas, Wailing Caverns, or Black Fathom Depths as well as casting and running simultaneously. My only advice for improving it is if Blizzard added the ability to turn your character on this menu as well.
