MogIt – Addons for Accessibility

MogIt Accessibility Spotlight

Hello, Ability Powered gamers! Welcome back to another Addons for Accessibility! This week we are going to look at a World of Warcraft addon for transmogrification. It’s called MogIt. This addon lets you easily preview and find pieces of gear in Azeroth to make that perfect outfit for your toon. When a piece of gear drops you can mouse over it to see what it would look like on your character. No need to press control and click to view it, mousing over the gear is all you need to do. It even shows a preview during the loot roll window.

MogIt Transmoggin’

Short seen in her custom World of Warcraft wheelchair talking about the CurseForge addon for transmogs called MogItYou can also look through a database of gear models in game to piece together sets and save them to wishlists. Each piece will have tooltips that include information about the level requirements and location of each piece. The fact that you can access all this information in-game and see previews with a simple mouse over reduces mouse movement and clicking by a ton. That makes this a perfect accessibility addon. But don’t take my word for it, check it out on CurseForge! If you have a addon you would like to see on Addons for Accessibility leave a comment and let me know what it is! I would love to check it out and share it with other Ability Powered gamers!

QuestPlates – Addons for Accessibility

QuestPlates Accessibility Spotlight

Hello, Ability Powered gamers and welcome back to another Addons for Accessibility! This week we are going to look at a World of Warcraft addon for questing. It’s called QuestPlates. This addon will add quest information to enemy name plates. What does this mean though? It will show how many of the mobs you need to kill or how many more drops you need from them!

QuestPlates Features

This addon comes with a few options for what you want to display and where it is in relation to the enemy. You can move the text and icon to wherever it’s easiest to see. You can access the options by using the following slash commands /qp or /questplates followed by:

  • TEXT – Toggles quest text on or off
  • MOVE – Allows you to adjust the icon and text position
  • ICON – Toggles icon on or off
  • RESET – Returns everything to the default settings

QuestPlates Quells the Questing Beast!

Short hand drawn sits in her World of Warcraft wheelchair as she talks on about the CurseForge addon QuestPlatesIt makes it easy to identify enemies you need to kill. With the information right on the interface there’s no need to continuously open your quest log to check your progress or enemy names. That’s why I think this is a great accessibility addon. But don’t take my word for it, check it out on CurseForge! If you have a addon you would like to see on Addons for Accessibility leave a comment and let me know what it is!

GTFO – Addons for Accessibility

GTFO Accessibility Spotlight

Hello, Ability Powered gamers! Welcome back to another Addons for Accessibility! This week we are going to look at a World of Warcraft addon for all areas of Azeroth especially raiding. It’s called GTFO. This addon gives audible alerts anytime your character is standing in an Area-of-Effect (AoE) spell and taking damage. It’s there to quickly tell you one thing… GET OUT!

GTFO Features

This is a perfect addon for anyone with visual impairments. As soon as you start taking damage from an AoE ability, GTFO immediately alerts you with different sounds based on whether you are taking heavy raid damage or light questing damage. You can choose which alerts you want and there’s a volume slider to get the alerts to a perfect volume for you. Beware though, at it’s highest setting it is very loud!

GTFO Gets You OUT!

Hand drawn Short sitting in her custom World of Warcraft wheelchair as she discusses the CurseForge addon GTFOThis addon was recommended by many people, one of which being my guild’s tank during Firelands raiding. Firelands color scheme was particularly hard on him due to him being colorblind. During fights like Beth’tilac when the AoE was close to the same color of the web, he was struggling to see when he was standing in it. GTFO changed that by alerting him with loud audio alerts instead. That’s why I think it’s a great addon for accessibility. But don’t take my word for it, check it out on CurseForge! If you have a addon you would like to see on Addons for Accessibility leave a comment and let me know what it is! I would love to check it out and share it with other Ability Powered gamers!

BagSlots – Addons for Accessibility

BagSlots Accessibility Spotlight

Hello, Ability Powered gamers! Welcome back to another Addons for Accessibility! This week we are going to look at a World of Warcraft (WoW) addon that’s more of a quality of life addon. It’s called BagSlots. Now, I know there is an option in WoW to show how many empty spots you have in your bags, but BagSlots does a little something extra. Instead of just showing the total number of slots you have free, BagSlots shows the empty slots for each bag.

BagSlots Features

With WoW’s new bag sorting options, knowing how much space you have available per bag instead of overall is much better than a total number. For those of us who keep our bags organized (bag 1 = quest things, bag 2 = consumables, bag 3 = gear, ect) knowing exactly how much room we have per each bag is more helpful. Seeing the number on each bag also saves you unnecessary clicking by being right there in view and not requiring you to go bag to bag to find them yourself.

BagSlots Bags up Your Troubles!

Short relaxes in her custom World of Warcraft wheelchair as she talks about the accessibility options in CurseForge's addon BagSlots.Options are few, but include the ability to show bag sizes, show empty versus filled slots, and display the numbers at the top or bottom. It also works with bags in your bank! It’s a solid little addon and puts the bag space information you need right on the main UI. But don’t take my word for it, check it out on CurseForge! If you have a addon you would like to see on Addons for Accessibility leave a comment and let me know what it is! I would love to check it out and share it!

Healium – Addons for Accessibility

Healium Accessibility Spotlight

Hello, Ability Powered gamers and welcome back to another Addons for Accessibility! This week we are going to look at a World of Warcraft addon for all the healers out there. It’s known as Healium. This addon adds toolbars on your screen which makes healing much easier for us disabled gamers. Each party or raid member has their name listed with a row of spells beside each of their names. This allows you to cast a heal on each person without even needing to target them. The bars are compact, so mouse movement required is limited.

Healium Features

You can add up to 15 spells to Healium which means you shouldn’t need to use additional key modifiers, just click and heal. The bars can be resized to customize them smaller for less mouse movement or bigger for better visibility. You can also place them anywhere you need them on the screen. You can add bars for:

  • Party
  • Pets
  • Yourself
  • Target
  • Focus
  • Friends
  • Tanks
  • Groups 1-8

High Healing with Healium!

Short in her hand drawn World of Warcraft wheelchair talks about the CurseForge WoW addon known as Healium. This fantastic addon also has audio warnings you can set up for debuffs. This is actually the addon I have been healing with since World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and, trust me, it makes healing vastly easier.  But don’t take my word for it, check it out on CurseForge! If you have a addon you would like to see on Addons for Accessibility leave a comment and let me know what it is! I would love to check it out and share it with other Ability Powered gamers!
