An Open Thank You
Hello, Ability Powered gamers! I love World of Warcraft. I know that isn’t a big surprise to most of you guys. In Azeroth I found freedom to game, be competitive, and just be “Short” the gnome. This week though I have felt like a big old cheater. Between testing Legion Alpha and keeping up with my team’s raid schedule I have been trying to sneak away from Azeroth every free second I can find. The Nexus has been calling.
My Love for Heroes of the Storm
Heroes of the Storm (HotS) released a new hero in November. A hero controlled by two players: Cho’gall. I was really excited to try it. For once, I might be able to enjoy a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) without stressing over being able to click fast enough to move. This seems to be my main problem. I go in to do damage, the enemy jumps out of nowhere, I can’t right click fast enough, I die, and get yelled at for feeding followed by a string of statements about my mother. When I started having more and more problems right clicking, I stopped playing HotS. I just didn’t want to deal with that kind of negativity, even though I loved the game.
A Hope Renewed
Cho’gall brought back a spark of hope that I could get back into the Nexus. I enlisted friends to play Cho while I picked Gall. Away we went. I threw orbs, I detonated bombs, I shot enemies with my ultimate, and not once did I have to defend my mother. I found freedom again, this time to the sweet sounds of “Enemy Slain”. I’m not always the best assassin on the team, but I have my moments and that is something new to me in a MOBA. I am no longer the lowest on the team. I’m “okay”.
Thank You
So to the Heroes of the Storm development team at Blizzard, thank you. Thank you for trying a crazy idea like a hero that’s controlled by two people. Thanks for a hero I don’t need to click a mouse to death trying to move. Thank you for getting me back in the Nexus with my friends. Thanks to my friends who have been cool with the constant barrage of “Hey, want to play Cho?” And thanks to all the enemies that have taken Shadow Bolt Volley right to the face. Sorry about that.
